Product Description

AERIAL BUNDLE CABLE ( ABC CABLE )

Instruction For Aerial Bundle Cable

Application

Aerial Bundle Cable

Aerial bundle cable is used primarily for overhead secondary distribution lines. It is an electrically insulated conductor with PVC or PE insulation and is treated as transmission cable when installed.

duplex service drop
1,Application
Aerial Bundle Cable is used to supply 120 volt aerial service for temporary serivce at construction sites , outdoor or street lighting . For service at 600 volt or lower at a conductor temperature of 75 degree maximum

2,Construction
Concentric strand or compressed 1350-H19 conductor , polyethylene or crosslinked polyethylene insulation , aerial bundle cable concentric strand AAC , ACSR , or 6201 alloy neutral messenger

3,Standards
ASTM B-230, B-231, B-232 and B-399
ICEA S-76-474

4,Note
The Designed sizes of aerial bundle cable are ACSR 6/1 diameter equivalent resistivity per ASTM-B-399 for 6201Conductor temperature of 75 degree, ambient temperature of 40 degree, emissivity 0.9, 2ft/sec wind in sun
Packaging: available in 500ft coils and in long lengths on reels
The data is approximate and subject to mormal manufacturing tolerances
To determine current ampacity by conductor size, please consult the national electric code, latest edition

triplex service drop
1,Application
Aerial Bundle Cable is used to supply power from the utility's lines to consumer's weatherhead, for service at 600 volt or less (phase to phase) at a conductor temperature of 75 degree maximum for polyethylene insulation or 90 degree maximum for crosslinked insulation

2,Construction
Concentric strand or compressed 1350-H19 conductor, polyethylene or crosslinked polyethylene insulation, aerial bundle cable concentric strand AAC, ACSR or 6210 alloy neutral messenger

3, Standards
ASTM B-230, B-231, B-232 and B-339
ICEA S-76-474

quadruplex service drop
1,Application
Aerial Bundle Cable is used to supply 3 phase power, usually from a polemounted transformer, to the user's service head where connection to the service entrance cable is made, to be used at voltage of 600 volts or less phase to phase and at conductor temperatures not to exceed 75 degree for polyethylene insulated conductor or 90 degree for crosslinked polyethylene(XLPE) inulated conductors

2,Construction
Conductors are concentrically stranded, compressed 1350-H19 aluminum, Insulated with either polyethylene or crosslinked polyethylene , neutral messengers are concentrically stranded 6201, AAC, or ACSR , one conductor is manufactured with an extruded ridge for phase identification

3,Specifications
Quadruplex service drop of aerial bundle cable meets or exceeds the following ASTM

specifications:
B-230 aluminum wire , 1350-H19 for electrical purpose
B-231 aluminum conductors, concentric-lay-stranded
B-232 aluminum conductors, concentric-lay-stranded , coated steel reinforced (ACSR)
B-399 concentric-lay-stranded, 6201-T81 aluminum
Service Drop Cable meets or exceeds all applicable requirements of ICEA S-79-474
